Biegel Macaraeg

Biegel Macaraeg joined ORIX Finance in October 2006 and is currently a Director in Loan Sales and Trading. He is responsible for the structuring and distribution of ORIX Finance directly originated senior and subordinated credit facilities across the business units, including Leveraged, Healthcare, Insurance, Gaming and Venture Finance.

Prior to ORIX, Mr. Macaraeg worked from May 2005 to October 2006 in the Electric Finance Group in Prudential Capital Group’s Dallas office. He was responsible for the new business development, transaction execution and portfolio management for power and project finance-related fixed income investments in the Eastern U.S.

Prior to graduate school, Mr. Macaraeg was a co-founder and COO of a New York City-based-start-up merchant banking and corporate development services firm, which served private equity firms, hedge funds and middle market businesses.

From 1998 to 2001, he was with Albion Alliance (now Albion Investors) in New York, principally involved in the origination and execution of mezzanine debt and co-invest equity investments for buyouts, recapitalizations and growth financing in the U.S. middle market.

From 1994 to 1998, Mr. Macaraeg worked as an analyst and associate in the Leveraged Finance and Mezzanine Capital Markets groups at BT Securities, Inc./BT Alex. Brown (acquired by Deutsche Bank in 1999) in New York. While there, he originated, structured and helped place leveraged loans, high yield bonds and mezzanine debt for buyouts, recapitalizations and refinancings.

Mr. Macaraeg received a BSBA in Finance and Management from Georgetown University and an MBA from the Cox School of Business at SMU.
