Alex Lizarazo is a Managing Director and the Head of Asset Management in the Real Estate Investment Strategies (REIS) group at ORIX USA. He oversees all asset management responsibilities for bridge, construction, fixed-rate, mezzanine, and opportunistic products. Mr. Lizarazo has been with ORIX USA’s subsidiary, Lument, since 2020, prior to the team’s transition to ORIX USA in 2025, and is based in Dallas. Prior to Lument, Mr. Lizarazo was with Hunt Real Estate Capital since 2017, prior to their rebrand under Lument in 2020.
During his tenure at Lument and predecessor companies, he has managed over $4B of higher-risk commercial real estate products consisting of bridge, mezzanine, construction, securitized products, B-piece positions, preferred equity and REO properties. Prior to joining Lument, Mr. Lizarazo held capital markets and asset management positions with LStar Capital and Hudson Advisors (both wholly-owned subsidiaries of Lone Star Funds) where he managed and resolved over $250M in distressed assets and non-performing loans and lead the CMBS securitization process. Prior to that he spent eight years at Goldman Sachs within the operations, equity, and derivatives divisions.
Mr. Lizarazo holds a BS in Finance from University of Rhode Island and a MS in Real Estate Finance from NYU.
