Chris Mauger is a Managing Director and Head of Seniors Credit in the Real Estate Investment Strategies (REIS) group at ORIX USA where he serves as chief credit officer for seniors housing investments. Mr. Mauger has been with ORIX USA’s subsidiary, Lument, since 2020, prior to the team’s transition to ORIX USA in 2025, and is based in Columbus. Prior to Lument, Mr. Mauger was with Lancaster Pollard since 2013, prior to their rebrand under Lument in 2020.
Mr. Mauger has been involved in seniors housing and health care finance for more than 25 years, specializing in Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, interim/bridge and mezzanine debt structures. Prior to joining Lancaster Pollard in 2013, Mr. Mauger was a Director of Seniors Housing originations at Berkeley Point Capital. For thirteen years preceding his involvement with Berkeley Point Capital, he was a Senior Managing Director of Red Capital Partners and Red Mortgage Capital, LLC, with production and management responsibilities for the firm’s Seniors Housing direct lending platform, encompassing interim acquisition, bridge, expansion/construction and mezzanine loans. Mr. Mauger was also responsible for the day-to-day management and operation of the firm’s Seniors Housing agency lending activities, which included Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac Seniors Housing loan programs. He was directly involved in the origination, structuring, negotiation and closing of approximately $2 billion in Seniors Housing debt. He was also a voting member of the firm’s credit approval, investment approval and risk committees. Prior to his tenure at Red Capital, Mr. Mauger served as a Vice President responsible for structuring and closing Seniors Housing and Multifamily mezzanine investments for Banc One Capital Corporation (predecessor to Red Capital Group).
Mr. Mauger holds a BBA from Ohio University and an MBA for The Ohio State University.
