Chris Gaines is a Senior Director of Research with Signal Peak Capital Management (SPCM), a credit focused asset management team at ORIX Advisers, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of ORIX Corporation USA. He has more than 17 years of fixed income investing experience and was previously with the Mariner Leveraged Credit prior to that team’s ownership transition to ORIX USA and rebranding as SPCM in 2020.Mr. Gaines has operated in his current capacity for over 15 years and as a Senior Director of Research, he works directly with the Co-Heads to ensure best practices and implement value-added research tools across the platform. He is also a voting member of SPCM’s Investment Committee. Additionally, Mr. Gaines has primary responsibility for multiple sectors, including gaming, leisure, food and beverage, with secondary responsibility for the healthcare sector.
Previously, Mr. Gaines was a Senior Consultant in the Corporate Finance / Restructuring practice of FTI Consulting, a global business advisory firm.
Mr. Gaines earned a BBA in finance from Texas Wesleyan University and an MBA from Southern Methodist University. Mr. Gaines is a CFA® charterholder and a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Dallas-Fort Worth.
