Tetsuo “Jimmy” Yamashita is Managing Director, Head of the Office of the CEO at ORIX USA. He is a member of the Management Committee and leads a team responsible for supporting the CEO with the growth of ORIX USA Group businesses and managing collaboration and communication channels with parent company ORIX Corporation. He joined the firm in 2023 and is based in New York.
Mr. Yamashita has over 25 years of experience in the alternative investment industry. Prior to joining ORIX USA, he was a Managing Director and founding member of NXC Japan, focusing on venture and private equity investments. Before that, Mr. Yamashita served as a Director at PwC Advisory, where he headed a practice supporting corporate C-level management. He has also previously served as Head of Fund Management at Kenedix, Inc. as a real estate fund manager, as a Director at Cerberus Japan KK, focusing on private equity investments, and with the Advisory team at KPMG in Los Angeles and Tokyo focusing on services around distressed assets and corporate turnarounds.
He earned a BA in Business Management from Sophia University in Tokyo and is bilingual in Japanese and English.
