Corporate Social Responsibility

Employees driving positive change

Over the past decade, ORIX USA Group has donated over $20 million to a wide range of national and local community-focused nonprofit organizations.

At ORIX USA Group, our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities are focused on building and improving the social, economic, and environmental infrastructure of the communities where we live and do business. We are committed to providing support and partnership, taking action through volunteerism, and using our financial services expertise to have a positive, sustainable impact that benefits society, our clients and employees.

In 2020, we established the ORIX USA Group CSR Advisory Committee to ensure continued momentum and strategic focus around our corporate philanthropy efforts, which were previously managed by the ORIX Foundation. Comprised of representatives from ORIX USA, and its subsidiaries, Boston Financial, Lument, and NXT Capital, the Committee meets regularly to consider and select nonprofit grant recipients for holiday and annual giving programs, as well as volunteer and other engagement opportunities.

ORIX USA Group’s CSR activities have four areas of focus that align with our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) and Sustainability/ESG strategies, in addition to supporting our local communities.

Volunteerism

Volunteer teams from ORIX USA, Lument and Boston Financial partnered with Habitat for Humanity on home building and repair projects, called Build Days, in New York City and Boston. The effort was part of our year-long partnership with the organization and follows Lument’s first volunteer Build Day in Columbus this past October.

Boston Financial colleagues recently volunteered with Bridge Over Troubled Waters (Bridge), a Boston-based non-profit organization that provides life-changing services and shelter for homeless, runaway, and at-risk youth with the goal for residents to gain skills, resources, and a life plan to live independently.

In October, Lument employees partnered with Habitat for Humanity to build homes in Columbus to help address housing insecurity in the community. This first Build Day project is part of our year-long partnership with the organization to create affordable homes in Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Irvine and New York.

Boston Financial Fund Management Team partnered with A Bed for Every Child to construct twin bed frames for ten children on the organization’s waitlist. Team members came together to sand, measure, construct, assemble and customize the bed frames.
