Chief of Staff to the CEO and Head of ORIX USA’s Sustainability Group

Jorge Jaramillo is Chief of Staff to the CEO and Head of ORIX USA’s Sustainability Group, and a member of the firm’s Management Committee. He is responsible for supporting the CEO with the execution of the company’s business strategy as well as overseeing the implementation of sustainable investment solutions to capture strategic opportunities for clients. He also leads group-wide efforts on corporate sustainability throughout the firm’s business practices and operations. Previously, Mr. Jaramillo served as Head of ORIX USA’s Latin America division, where he was responsible for sourcing, evaluating, executing, and managing private equity and strategic M&A investments in Latin America, including Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru. He is based in Dallas.

A 23-year veteran of the finance industry, Mr. Jaramillo rejoined ORIX in 2008 and has held a variety of investment management responsibilities within the company, including private equity investments, recapitalizations, DIPs, and exit and rescue financings for middle-market companies based in the U.S. and Canada with ORIX USA’s Leveraged Finance Group.

Prior to ORIX USA, Mr. Jaramillo was with Highland Capital Management’s Merchant Banking and Distressed Investment Group, where he was responsible for restructuring, underwriting, and managing special situations credit, private equity, and public equity investments. He previously held roles with ORIX Leveraged Finance in Dallas and Wells Fargo’s Capital Markets Group in San Francisco.

Mr. Jaramillo received a BS in Finance from Butler University and an MBA from the Olin School of Business at Washington University.
